1066
As I said in my last post, this is one of my favorite pieces of work. I really love it and hope you like it, but before you check it out I would like to let you know that it has got some offensive swear words in it, so only read it if you are OK with that.
The song is called 1066 and although it has nothing directly to do with the battle of hastings it does get a mention. It really is a snippet of what I think about the schooling system, back in the day when I attended school. I really hope the system has improved for today’s young people.
So here goes, remember it is quite offensive so only read if you are sure you want to.
Ten Sixty Six
When I left school
I just wasn’t sure
What the world
Had in store
They said it was exciting
Full of many choices
So enticing
Just one big oyster
But what a lie
They were all frauds
All school taught me
Among all the rules
For all I know is
Ten Sixty Six
All those years
Sitting there wasting
Who gives a shit
About Hastings
They don’t teach about life
Or what to expect
How to survive
Instead it’s Algebra for effect
And God forsaken shit yea
What a lie
What a scam
All school taught me yea
Was not it
All I know is
Ten Sixty Six
All those years
Sitting there wasting
Who gives a shit about Hastings
There’s no compensation
For the lack of information
So kxxx the teacher
Cause she’s full of shit
All we know is
Ten Sixty Six
And kxxx the headmaster
He’s a fxxxxxg prick
All we know is
Ten Sixty Six

I hope that wasn’t to offensive, I did xxxx out the more offensive of the words. It is just a little rant about how I thought most of what I was taught at school was a waste of time, none of it really prepared me for the real world. I mean lets face it we are still pretty much kids when we leave school. I just think the last year or so of school should be preparing young people for the world they are going to be thrown into.
I am sure that schools are better than they used to be, I hope anyway.
