Friend Of Mine

Another little ditty here for you to read, I wrote this one back in june 2006. I think I wrote a fair few during the summer months of 2006. I must have been in an inspirational mood. Friend of mine was definitely an inspired piece.

Friend Of Mine

The thing that struck me
The thing that hit me
Was your spirit
So electric

You may be short
You are so tall
You make me laugh
It feels so good
Being no fool you can cut me down
With just one word
You make me frown

I can see the beauty shinning through
Within the mannner of your truth
Just how I’d like to be
Flowing through life so free
This friend to me

To be you so great it would be
If only for one day
To know what it was like
And always be right
To be so sure of what you are
She is so free and a friend to me

Nothing there is, that could make me sway
Or ever want to walk away
She’s an open door, to a place I’d like to stay
A great friend to me
Flowing through life so free

Her beauty shines right through
And stares always at me
A firend I am so grateful too
Has taught me how to see
I hope I can learn to be
So knowing honest and free
As this friend is to me

Friend Of Mine, I hope you liked it. I know there is not really any structure to how it has been written and there is a good reason for that, which is that I don’t write with any kind of structure or lay out in mind. Why should I ? I like to write the way the words come to me, so I do. While I was reading Friend Of Mine just before transfering it to this post, I must admit I did change a few words here and there but it is basically the same piece as I wrote it back in 2006.
