George Michael Review
George Michael, what can you say except fantastic songwriter, briliant voice and great performer. He truly has been a stayer in the music industry and that is down to being talented and producing great songs time
and time again.
Born in north London in 1963 George started his music career with Andrew Ridgeley in a band called The Executive, but they soon realized that their future in music lay in them being a duo and they formed Wham. As Wham they had hit after hit from Wham Rap and Young Guns to Wake Me Up Before You Go Go and of course their Festive Hit Last Christmas, which has become one of the Christmas classics, also I’m Your Man, Club Tropicana and Where Did My heart Go. They were one of the best pop bands of the eighties and their tunes have not been forgotten, especially the likes of the all time classic Careless Whisper.
George and Andrew split in the mid eighties and George launched his solo career with the ballad Different Corner and secured his future as a long standing song writing and performing artist. He has sold tens of millions of singles and albums through out the world and accomplished six US number one singles and eleven UK number one singles as well as six number one albums, also picking up many awards for his huge talent.
Apart from the amazing song writing talent, the voice is probably one of the best in the world. He sang and performed Eltons Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, way better than Elton could ever do (no disrespect Elton) and the same goes for the Queen songs he has sung (again no disrespect to the huge talent that was freddie), you have to admit the voice is great.
As a solo artist George has produce great song after great song, from his first solo song Different Corner through Faith, I want Your Sex, Father figure and one of my favorites Fast Love. It is no wonder that he has had such a long career in this business and I, as many others look forward to his next masterpiece, so get writing george.
I have included a couple of my favorite songs below, a Wham Classic Careless Whisper and A George Michael Classic Fast Love. So watch listen and enjoy.
