Hometown Depression

Home Town Depression

Running round and round my town
Back to front and things have gone down
Can’t find you, who am I looking for
No nothing is the same no more
This town has gone down and drowned

Mrs Brown now wears a frown
She’s a long way from the girl I once knew
Scared of what that glance might do
Running from her dark shadow
No one can restore not in her town

Time can heal but it leaves a scare
Nothing doing much any more
The place I once knew once before
Taken over by the crews
Raging Terror across the night
Signing on and stealing the day light

The grocers gone the bakers gone
Graffiti sprayed across their dirty walls
All the shops have bars for decoration
I don’t have time to understand
No one will show me their hand
Just their gun what have I done

Lying there on the path
I see my friends from the past
Once we played as children
Running through the park
But time has taken away their face
And tears melt into their broken skin
I don’t know what they’re asking me…

Time can heal but it leaves a scare
Nothing doing much any more
The place I once knew once before
Taken over by the crew
Raging Terror across the night
Signing on and stealing the day light

Will sombody tell me
What has happened
To the place I once forgot
Remember my name
I lived on your street
We were friends and neighbours
A community complete

Time can heal but it leaves a scare
Nothing doing much any more
The place I once knew once before
Taken over by the crew
Raging Terror across the night
Signing on and stealing the day light

Mrs brown she don’t remember me
She’s watching to close her tv
And hope passes by so fast
She don’t give it a second glance

My town has gone away from me
My town has left me behind
my town I ain’t going back
No place for me to lay my tracks
They say that time can heal
But the scare runs deep into my soul
