Inspiration-Is All In The Words

I have been asked recently why I write and why I put my work on this blog and it is not the first time I have been asked these questions. So I thought I would share my answers with you. As I do my work.

So why do I write? Well only because I enjoy it, right at this moment I am enjoying the anticipation of explaining in words why I like writing. I love words and all the different combinations that they can make, words inspire me to write them down and play with them. I inspire myself with my own work.

I also find it easier to write what I mean or what I feel rather than trying to do that verbally to a group of people, I guess that could make me shy in some peoples eyes and may be I am, but I am fine on a one to one basis. I just feel uncomfortable talking in a group and the thought of public speaking frightens the life out of me, I am the same with the telephone, I hate speaking on the telephone.

So may be this is why I love writing so much, I can say what I want to say and the way I want to say it. I love being able to write a collection of words, you can call them songs, poems or what ever you want and say what I feel or put across a message without saying it outright, so that every person that reads it can put there own meaning to it, if I can achieve that then I am happy because it means a lot to me that my words could have there own special meaning to different people.

The work that I put on this site, I do call songs and the reason is that I have always loved music and I believe that they could all come to life in one way or another through music. Just in case you are wondering the answer is a big YES, of course I would love for a band or a singer to approach me and say that they liked one of my songs and could they put some music to it and go forth from there, surely that is every writers dream to get their work recognised.

Even just feed back is always appreciated and I have had a bit, some of it good some of it bad but I am under no impression that everyone will like what I write. I am just happy that some do like my work. So I will continue to write for myself and for those that do enjoy my words.

OK the reason I set up this blog really, was to share my work, I mean I have so many thousands of words written down that what is the point of keeping it all to myself, I want people to read it, I want people to hopefully enjoy it (I know some won’t) and may be I will get someone who wants to use some of it ( come on I’m only human).

I have mentioned Before that I have also written a novel and I have started work on an inspirational book, well the time has not been available for me to progress much with the inspirational book, but it will happen the time will find itself before me soon. However the novel, I have been thinking about what to do with it, I have let several people read it to get their feedback and I was happy with the response. So I might in the near future offer it here on this blog. I will let you know.

So that is my reason for writing, remember Inspiration is all in the words.
