Living With Death

As morbid as it may sound, it is anything but, life is special and we can take it for granted. So it is more about the realization that life is here right now and we should not ignore it, the only thing that matters is now because that is all we have.

Living With Death

Death is upon us, we just don’t know it
I was talking to my friend just the day before
We were laughing and joking, while we drank our tea
Yet to day he has gone and never again will he be

All the things around us so beautiful and nice
We just don’t see them, wrapped up in our life
The trees with their new spring leaves
Flowers blooming to feed the bees
The flow of the river goes rushing by
Fighting its way to the ocean wide
All these things are ours to enjoy
Yet we give them no time as we hurry through life

Death is upon us, we just can’t see it
My mother was taken, my father too
They had many years from the day they were born
No easier is that than my very young friend
Taken before any life he had spent

The worry and the stress we put ourselves through
Running all the time just to stand still
Trying to buy everything that we want
Spending more money than we have really got
Not satisfied with the world that lays at our feet
Simple is our life until we need everything
Getting in debt right up to our necks
Until we have a stroke, trying to fend off the sharks

Death is upon us, we can never know
When it might happen today or tomorrow
The days might be many, rich and long
On the other hand I could be wrong

Take stock of your life before it has gone
Enjoy your wife, your daughters and sons
Help as many people that you stumble upon
Never be negative just love every minute
For your life is here now for you to be in it
Be part of the rain the wind and the thunder
Watch the blood red sun creeping over horizon
Then you will know how special you are
When you experience life from where you are
Don’t waste any time cause you will regret past
For round the corner death is a promise
