Man In The Mirror

Do we really know that person who stares back at us, I guess we can say that it is the one person that we truly know the best. So what was the meaning behind the man in the mirror.

As you know from a post titled Michael Jackson that I wrote several weeks ago. I thought that Michael was a genius, in his writing and performing. There has been, as I thought lots of theories about him since he passed over and that will go on for a long time.

One of his songs that I really loved was Man in The Mirror and was he writing what I thought he was writing. My interpretation of this song is that if we all want to make this world a better place to live in, because lets face it there are plenty of issues in this world that we don’t like, then we have to start with ourselves.

If we can change and be kind, understanding, positive, helpful and pretty much a nice person then the world will change. Michael may not have thought the way I have explained it, but I think that is the general idea of the song. I would imagine that many people would agree with me as it seems so obvious that this is what he was getting at.

That doesn’t mean to say I am right and this is the beauty of writing. The meaning of that song may be a completely different one, but that does not matter, we can all take from it what we want to take. We can make it our own and everytime we hear this song or any other, they will provoke their own special meaning to us and always will.
