You Are

I wrote this one last month and it is a Song/Poem that I have been meaning to write for a long time, for about eighteen years infact.

I think I have started it several times but never really found the right words to match my feelings. Last month as I was driving along the beautiful coast road near where I live the words ‘you came to me from outer space’ just entered my head and then ‘disrupt my life and give it grace’ that was the start of what I have wanted to say for so long.

So when I got home I sat down, fired up the laptop and typed in the above lines then my fingers just carried on clicking away and this is the result.

You Are

You came to me from outer space
Disrupt my life and give me grace
I see your face you look at me
I hold your beauty in disbelief
Dependance I am to you
Everything I will do

You came from nowhere
Once I had been
You are my Past
You are the future
You are everything I am to me
All that I have been
You are my present
The next thing I can’t see

The cruel one will always take
If only for the sake
What a fake
No option but to leave
I regret your eyes did see
My heart torn and bruised
Your life played with ease

No matter what the anger
No matter what the price
Stood firm the connection
Threats and scare thrown at me
Never tore the intensity

You are my vision
My second life
You’re every part of me
Time the distance find us
My soul will always be
You’re everything you are
To me

My Son
You’ll always be
